Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dennis Dean Stott, 76, of Sunnyvale, California, passed away on March 24, 2018, in San Juan Bautista, California.

Dennis was born in Oakland, California to Gertrude West on April 2, 1941. He grew up in San Francisco and Redwood City and graduated from Sequoia High School in 1959. He went on to work at Beckman Instruments as a lab tech, followed by companies including Intersil where, in the early days of Silicon Valley, he focused on printed circuit board production control management. Dennis was happiest working alongside his son and brother-in-law remodeling houses which he did in his retirement. He enjoyed bowling (once bowling a 300 game), fishing, golf, riding his John Deere mower, and travelling with his wife. He also had a fondness for Broadway show tunes and the music of John Denver, Johnny Cash, and Australia's Slim Dusty.

Dennis is survived by his wife and partner of 39 years, Diana Stott; his brother John Stott; his children Doug and Dawn Stott; stepdaughter, Kristine Roy and her family, his mother-in-law, Barbara Zimmermann; brother-in-law Michael Zimmermann (Elizabeth), and sister-in-law Krista Zimmermann. He is also survived by his three most-beloved nieces, Annika, McKenna, and Marlena Zimmermann. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Gertrude Stott; sister Pam Roehm; brother Ron Stott; son Dean Stott; and father-in-law Hans Zimmermann.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Lung Cancer Association in his name. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Bar-O Boys Ranch for its' profoundly positive impact on Dennis as a young adult; Dr. Daniel Y. Sze, Interventional Radiology, Stanford Hospital for the bonus 12+ years of life - some might say, his best years; his care team at Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Sunnyvale and Mountain View; the VNA and Central Coast Hospice, and to his select friends over the years.
