Obituary of Frank A. Silva
Frank A. Silva, 87, of Mt. Vernon, Oregon passed away March 15, 2018 at his home,
Frank was born November 17, 1930, to Frank R. ad Flora (Huckaba) Silva in Oxnard, California. He served four years as a deep sea diver and machinist in the United States Navy aboard the USS Grapple ARS-7. He was very proud of his Navy service and had a great love for his country. Frank spent his whole life farming, both in California and Oregon. He loved to work. Frank married Mary “Jane” (DaRoza) Silva on September 1, 1957 in Hollister.
Frank was a member of John Day Elks Lodge 1824 as well as a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in John Day. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with people. Actually, he “loved” visiting with people.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary “Jane” Silva of Mt. Vernon, Oregon; son Tim Silva and his wife Raelene of Hollister; son Steven Silva of Mt. Vernon, Oregon; daughter Patti Silva of Hollister; and two grandchildren, Joey Silva and Jackie Whitehead.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28th from 0930 to 1130 am at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
A reception will be held at Paine's Restaurant from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. following the services at Calvary Cemetery.
