I just found out that Matt passed away and am so sad and sorry. He was one of my best friends at University of Dayton. He was one of the kindest people I ever met and so full of life. Even though we lost touch over the years, I have thought of him often and all the fun we had together. He could always make me laugh, and he was so easy to talk to. He is gone far too soon. Peace and love to all of his family.

I met Matt my first week of law school. I always admired him and looked up to him. He started a flag football team with a group of guys none of which knew each other. That group stayed together for the entire 3 years. Sorry to learn you are gone. Rest In Peace brother.

My deepest sympathy to Matt's family. He and I graduated from Chanel High School in Bedford, OH in 1976, where he was a leader in the classroom and on the athletic fields. Although we haven't seen each other in many years, I remember him clearly, because he left a good impression with everyone.

While I didn't have a lot of opportunities to work with Matt, the times I did I will always remember. I appreciated his advice, and insight. He was a straight shooter. Matt was such a giving and thoughtful man, it has been a privilege to call him our friend. We were with Matt and his loving and devoted wife, Liza who never left his bed side. Matt’s final words were “I love you” as she tightly held his hand. Her unconditional love, devotion, and commitment to him is unquestionable.
