I would like to express my condolences for your loss. I knew your parents since before their marriage. Your mother and I were especially close friends,in those days. Your dad stopped by to pay me a visit a couple of years ago. It was a bit awkward after so many years, and a sweet gesture at the same time. Again, my condolences.
Sincerely,
Isabel Rodrigues

I enjoyed John so much! His stories, his humor and his cioppino were the best. I didn't get to know John until after his wife's passing. I met him through work, but we quickly became friends. I'll miss his random phone calls where he would tease me and my co-worker. He called me "The Jew" and my co-worker the "Mexican Tornado". It was all good natured since we called him "The King of the WOP's". I feel lucky to have gone to the Italian American dinner in Monterey where he was honored and to the Italian Festival where he was the Grand Marshall. Rest in peace John. It was a life well lived. I'll miss you, but will always smile when I think of you. Thank you!
