Obituary of Frances Patricia Galvin

Frances Manus, age 78, of Hollister, passed away in Morgan Hill, California on July 5, 2017.

Fran was born in Hollister, July 30, 1938 to her parents Laurence & Louise Gomez. She is survived by her husband John Galvin; brother Pete “Snipe”  Gomez (Maxine); son Randy Nixon, daughter Becky Larios, daughter Lori Valdez (Rey); sister Cathy Gomez-Orlando (Becky), brother Larry Gomez, brother Michael Gomez; step-mother Donna Gomez; grandchildren: Walter, Wendy, Greg, Yvette, Vanessa, Chris, Mariah, Fred & Nikki; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

Frances was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Her heart grew and grew with every new addition to the family, whether it be through blood, or not. She doted on, protected and loved each grandchild in her life, unconditionally. She always had the right words to say, gum in her purse to share, cookies in the cookie jar, and smiles and hugs that would warm you from the inside out. Her grandchildren will cherish her memory forever and she will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband James R. Nixon in 1967 and her second husband James T. Manus in 1992. Also her father Laurence Gomez in 1989 and her mother Louise Branum in 2011; as well as her son-in-law Greg Larios in 2017.

Services will be on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at her church; Seventh Day Adventist, 2121 Sunnyslope Road in Hollister. A potluck lunch will immediately follow the service. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
