Obituary of Charles Morrison

Charles Morrison was born on April 18, 1947 in Northern California. He passed away at home, due to a long illness, on June 24, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Lorrie Morrison, son Sean (Stephanie) Morrison, daughter Andrea Morrison, sister Val Coggins, and brother Mike (Karen) Morrison, including his two nieces Mona Wright (Chris) and Heather (Bill) Brown, Sister-in-Law LeAnn Severson and her sons Ryan and Darryl. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Derek Rushing.

Charles loved spending time with his family and volunteered as a soccer coach and lead Boy Scouts including YMCA Adventure Guides. Chuck went to every play his daughter, Andrea, was ever in at school and taught his son, Sean, how computer systems work as well as coached Sean's soccer team. He always advocated being educated whether it was formally at college or reading for knowledge. His varied interests carried over to his children within the arts and technical fields.

Charles was a man of many talents. He started out as a teenager playing the saxophone at Western High School in Southern California in the marching band. They played at large events including the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. Later, he gave 13 years of service to his country entering the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War in the Tonkin Gulf, and later as an Electronics Instructor teaching soldiers from all over the world in San Diego. He became a certified diver in San Diego as a hobby, always loving the ocean. He then moved his family to the San Francisco Bay Area to be involved in high-tech and at the same time earning his Master's Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix. He was interested in many types of high-tech companies from manufacturing to start-up cutting-edge software businesses.
