Obituary of Ercilia Garcia Espinosa
Ercilia Garcia Espinoza passed away peacefully surrounded by her family .She is now reunited with her loved ones in Heaven on May 21,2017 at the age of 94 years old.
Ercilia was born in Roma Texas, moved to Hollister in 1954 and married the love of her life Leonso Espinoza Sr. the following year. Together they raised three sons, Leonso Jr, David and Lionel Sr. Although she resided in Hollister until her death, Ercilia always had a special place in her heart for Texas and her large family that is still there today. Ercilia was a devoted wife and mother who worked tirelessly to meet the needs of her family. She adored her numerous nieces and nephews and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Her kind heart and beautiful spirit earned her many friends during her 35 years as a seasonal cannery worker at San Benito Foods. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Teamsters Local 890. “RC”, as she was known to many, enjoyed family gatherings, chatting with old friends and watching the hustle and bustle of downtown Hollister from the front porch of her home on Sally Street where she lived for over 60 years. Grandma RC was loved dearly by many and will be greatly missed.
Ercilia is survived by her sons Leonso (Rita) Espinoza Jr and Lionel Espinoza Sr along with her grandchildren Lionel Espinoza Jr, David Espinoza, Yvette (Jim) McShane and Leonso (Kristie) Espinoza III as well as great grandchildren Anthony, Michael, Elias, Lauryn, Jayden and Porter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Santos and Irene Garcia, brothers Joe and Genovevo Garcia as well as sisters Cruz, Eloisa and Eufemia. Her husband Leonso Sr and son David both left us too soon and she eagerly awaited seeing them again in paradise.
Services are Tuesday May 30, 2017 beginning with a viewing at Grunnagle Funeral Home in Hollister from 8:00-10:30AM followed by a mass at Sacred Heart Church at 11:00AM. Burial at Calvary Christian Cemetery will follow the mass.
