Obituary of Richard Lawrence Sargent
Richard Lawrence Sargent passed away peacefully at his home in Hollister, CA April 21, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born August 2, 1933 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife Johanna of 53 years, and his 4 children Brad, Terri, Nancy and Chris along with their spouses Jeannine, Craig, Brian, and Ana. He has 4 grandchildren Staci, Steven, Ryan and Joshua, and 5 great grandchildren Kelsey, Dakota, Abbi, Cali, and Bayli. Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
After two years in the Army (1953-1955) Richard went to work for the Ma Bell/AT&T companies beginning in Massachusetts and later moving to San Francisco where he spent 30+ years working in a multitude of management jobs.
Richard loved sports; playing football, basketball and baseball in high school and later took up golf which was his true pastime. Twice he celebrated a hole in one during his golfing career! It was always his desire to live on a golf course and almost 20 years ago, he and Johanna (also an avid golfer) came to reside at Ridgemark in Hollister where they have created wonderful memories with many friends.
If you wish to honor his memory, please send donations to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation: https://www.alzinfo.org/donate/donation_form/ or Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation 110 East 42nd Street, 16th Floor New York, NY 10017
