Obituary of Donna J. Cousins

Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born July 20th, 1933 in Argos, Indiana. She grew up fishing on the rivers with her dad, enjoyed listening to Baseball on the radio, and the Indiana summers. She married John “Jack” Cousins on June 8th, 1952 in Roann, Indiana. They had three sons; Joe, Jerry and Jeff along with raising her niece Sue. The family moved to San Juan Bautista in 1961. They lived in several homes before settling in on 4th street where she spent the rest of her life. Joann held many jobs in the area; she worked at the 101 Auction House, Cullumber Construction, and Mission Valley Reality with her friend Leonard. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother, taught catechism at the Mission in SJB, was on the board of elections, and President of the VFW Auxiliary of SJB. She enjoyed spending her time with bowling in a House Wives League for years, playing cards with her friends, going on trips with her husband Jack, was part of the “Lunch N Bunch” and spent her last years hanging out with the SJB Seniors club. She was a fierce Bingo player according the group. Joann was also a dear Grandmother to her grand boys. She help instill their love for the San Francisco Giants, gave them tips on how to play Bingo and Slot Machines, and made them Breakfast for Dinner when they were kids. That was a big thing to them. Joann Cousin’s spirit lives on her 4 children, 7 grand children, and 13 great children. She was reunited with her husband Jack on Monday April 3rd; cause of death was kidney failure. She lived a full life. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 11th, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, April 12th, at 11:00 a.m. at Mission San Juan Bautista. Interment will follow at San Juan Bautista District Cemetery.
