Obituary of Jayson Orabuena

Following the service, family and friends will proceed to St. Benedict Columbarium where Jayson's ashes will be laid to rest. *****

Jayson was born in Hollister, California on November 16, 1982 to Christine Pacheco and Jerry Orabuena Jr. Jayson was raised and went to school in Hollister until 1998 when he moved to Los Banos. He graduated from Los Banos High School in 2001 where he was involved in Football and track & field.

After high school he took classes at both Modesto Junior College and Fresno City College while working at the local Circle K’s. He continued to help Coach Stiers at Los Banos High School with track & field. He then worked at Connells until the business was sold and he went to work at the Forbay Golf Course where he managed the pro shop. He then left for West Virginia for 2 years and worked for Dick’s Sporting Goods Store before coming back to Los Banos and helping at SNML Gas Company while also working at the Forbay Golf Course and coaching track & field at Pacheco High School.

Jayson is survived by his parents Christine & Don Valzez; father Jerry Orabuena Jr.; sisters Brenda Pacheco, Alicia Spencer, Amber Henry Orabuena; brother Michael Orabuena; step-sisters Julie and Dawn Valdez; grandparents Dave and Jean Pacheco, Aurora Orabuena; Ed and Leona Valdez; God parents Barbara Azevedo and Joe Orozco as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be missed by many more.

Jayson was preceded in death by his grandfather Jerry Orabuena, Uncle David Pacheco Jr. and Aunt Laura Tijerina.

Donations are preferred to Pacheco High School Jayson Orabuena Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the Go Fund account for Jayson Orabuena.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on April 1st, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Los Banos at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, 1840 Center Street. A Memorial Service will also be held in Hollister at a later date to be announced.
