Aurelia (Rosati) Bozzo of Hollister passed away on Thursday March 16, 2017. She was born June 30, 1915 at Chicago Illinois. The first of four children for Ettore and Carolina (Repetto) Rosati. The family moved to San Mateo, California in 1920 when Aurelia was very young. In 1927, Ettore had the opportunity to work at the family bakery in Hollister, so the family made their last move. Aurelia graduated from the old Serra High School in Hollister and received her nursing degree from O’Connor Hospital in 1940 at San Jose. There she met Rosale Campisi who would later enter her life again as the wife of a neighboring orchardist. While working as a maternity ward nurse at the old Hazel Hawkins Hospital, she met Catherine Dabo. The three remained lifelong friends. Aurelia married Fred Bozzo at the Mission San Juan Bautista in 1941. They worked an apricot orchard on Fairview road while raising their daughter Martha. Aurelia loved to fish, play Pedro, even enjoyed motorcycle riding having been introduced to it by her brother Dave. Always on the go, Aurelia was active in the YLI and ICF and numerous other organizations. She also loved to cook, entertain and reminisce. Aurelia enjoyed her life. She was predeceased by her loving husband Fred Bozzo, sons Charles (stillborn) and Freddie (D 4yrs), both her parents; Brothers Dave Rosati and Joe (Marie) Rosati and son-in-law Jim Gibson. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Gibson; sister Carolina Rocotti Marcus, sister-in-law Louise Rosati; grandsons, Jeffry (Gianna), Robert (Jay), Phillip (Courtney). Great-grandchildren Alyssa Gibson, Lili Jeske and James Gibson and numerous nieces, nephews and life-long friends. Special thank you to her loving care-giver, Alicia. There will not be a Church or mortuary service per Aurelia’s request. Graveside services will be at Calvary Cemetery on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00 am In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity are preferred.
