Obituary of Maria Alice Brum

Maria Brum, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother passed away at her home at the age of 95 in Hollister, California on February 13th 2017. Maria was born in the Azores, Portugal and came to the United States in 1959. She lived in EI Nido, CA for 10 years then settled in Hollister in 1968 where she lived for nearly fifty years. She was preceded in death by her husband Eduino Brum, daughter Maria daRosa and granddaughter Lisa daRosa. She is survived by her children Silvino (Branca) Brum, Roger (Diane) Brum and Aldina (Richard) Jones; Grandchildren Bob, Michael, Nancy, Michelle, David, Chris, and Jennifer; Great-Grandchildren Ryan, Regan, Riley, Rhys, Evan, Ethan, Emma, Robert, Lauren, Aelah, Sofia and Jessica. She will be missed by all of her friends and family. Maria enjoyed making new friends and playing Bingo at the Senior Citizens Center. She also loved flowers and enjoyed spending time in her garden. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. On Monday, February 20, 2017, friends may gather at the mortuary between 10:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations are preferred to Shriners Hospital or the Kinship Center c/o the mortuary.
