I would like to send my condolences to Dawn and Julie Valdez as well as the Vieira Family. I remember meeting Mr. Vieira numerous times out at his ranch with Julie and Dawn and at the Rodeo every year. My family had a box next to my Great-Uncle George Medeiros Jr. and everyone went to visit my uncle. It was great knowing Mr. Vieira and I know that he will truly be missed by his family, friends, and acquaintances. RIP.

Carmen, Merri, Trish and families-- I know there are no words for a time like this, but I'm going to try. If I had to look up the words kind, decent and honorable I'm sure I'd find a reference that said "see: Dick Vieira." I know because that's the way I've known him my entire life! From being a little kid and keeping me from getting in the way, or worse, at all the brandings, or helping EVERYONE at Bolado or just crossing paths at the feed store or around town, Dick was one of my favorite people in the world. I am the lucky one because I grew up knowing both Dick and Carmen and seeing exactly how one should treat the people around them. What great examples to follow! I can't imagine how difficult a time this is for you all, but please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you. And thank you for sharing him with all of us for all these many years. Sincerely, Ken

Uncle Dick Vieira was one of a kind. He was a true gentleman, friendly, and a good man. He always had time for talking and enjoying life. And what a real Cowboy. It's hard to think about Aunt Carmen without Uncle Dick at her side. My prayers, love and heart are with Aunt Carmen, Trish, Merri, and their families at this sad time This is the part of Circle of Life that hurts.

It truly saddened me when I heard of Dick's passing. He was probably the kindest and most generous man I have ever known. Besides being a helluva good hand on a horse.
He was always so kind to me and my family. He was very positive and happy about whatever life threw in his way.
I am sure George Rose met him chewing on a tooth pick and told him that it took him long enough. Dick was the last of the true hands in this area.
He will be sorely missed and he will always be remembered.
