Marjorie Midge Dianne Swarts Obituary

Marjorie "Midge" Swarts, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 78. Her life was a testament to love, family, and unwavering dedication.

Born on March 1, 1946, in Ontario, Canada, Midge was the beloved daughter of Clarence and Helen Graham. In 1964, she and her husband Douglas Swarts, along with Doug’s parents, made the life-changing decision to move to California, where they built a new life together.

Midge embraced her role as a homemaker with profound devotion, nurturing her children, Sharyl and Kevin, and later taking immense joy in caring for her grandsons: Dacien (21) and Tristan (17), sons of Sharyl & Joseph Felice, and Tyler (7) and Xander (5), sons of Kevin & Ximena Swarts. Her love and attention were a constant source of strength and warmth for her family.

Midge and Doug shared a passion for adventure, leading them to spend many years exploring the country in their RV bus. These travels, undertaken while their children were away at college and starting their own lives, were a highlight of their journey together.

After returning to Hollister, Doug and their daughter Sharyl launched an RV components business, starting with his invention of an electric waste gate valve. Midge soon became a key partner, her commitment to both the family and the business being vital to their success.

Midge is survived by her devoted husband Douglas Swarts; her children, Sharyl (Joseph) Felice and Kevin (Ximena) Swarts; her grandchildren, Dacien, Tristan, Tyler, and Xander; her brothers Lenny Graham and Jim Graham and her extended family in Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen Graham, and her sister Shirley Baessler.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the name of Marjorie "Midge" Swarts to Project Linus, Santa Clara South Bay Chapter, a non-profit dear to her heart. Midge contributed many years of her time and talent to this organization, bringing comfort to children in need through handmade quilts.

Midge Swarts will be remembered for her boundless love, nurturing spirit, and joyful heart.
