Obituary of Dean Hanson

Dean Hanson has been part of the Hollister community for most of his 87 years. He was an original, those who knew him all had interesting stories about him. He was born in Kittson County Minnesota on July 15, 1936. His parents were Henning and Della Hanson. Dean had 5 brothers, Hillis, Donald, Roy, Douglas and surviving Lester (Deanna) and one adored sister, Kristine Larter. He left Minnesota when he was stationed at Fort Ord and later Fort Hunter Liggett. He was very proud of his military service. After the military he owned a Bar, the Adobe Club on Jolon Rd in CA. He enjoyed telling stories of the Adobe Club. He was a Rancher, Business Owner, Salesman and finally “Papa Dean”. He is survived by Diane Hanson, his ex-wife and friend, his son Jeff Hanson (Krista) and his daughter Kris Nolan (John). Grandchildren Stephen and Olivia Hanson, Tyler and Sarah Hanson, Karlissa Hanson, JT Nolan and Kaitlyn Nolan. He was very proud of the baby that made him Great, Violet. Papa Dean was fortunate to find wonderful assistants in Tyler Trujillo and Regina Chi, we are forever thankful for your kindness and friendship. We thank all of his caregivers that helped him cope with life’s many challenges. Dean passed away peacefully in his home on June 6, 2024, surrounded by people who loved him.
