Obituary of Bruce H. Howe
Bruce Herbert Howe May 16, 1944 – April 26, 2024
Bruce was born in Washington, D.C. Raised in Pasadena and Arcadia, California he attended Webb School, Class of 1962. He majored in History at Stanford, Class of 1966, and received an MBA from UCLA Business School. He married Donna Guerra in 1972 and after many years moving frequently to work in sales for large companies, Bruce became the owner of the HouseMaster Home Inspection franchise for Oregon, Washington and California in 1992. For the next 27 years, Bruce loved the flexibility of being his own boss and received lots of recognition as HouseMaster’s most successful franchise.
Bruce was an avid sports fan who jogged and played lots of tennis. He loved Western movies and old TV shows like Lawman. He was a lifelong Methodist who will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends. Bruce’s wonderful sense of humor was a delight as he always enjoyed his own jokes and his often unsuccessful efforts to be humble.
During his long series of medical complications, Bruce maintained his usual positive attitude and good humor. He passed away peacefully just weeks before his 80th birthday. Predeceased by his parents, Paul and Dorothy Howe, his older brother Allan Howe, and by two nephews and a niece. Bruce is survived by his wife of 52 years Donna Guerra Howe, his daughter Christine Howe, his sister Marcia Howe Adams (Ted), sister-in-law Jeanne Howe and many nieces and nephews who all loved their funny and “cool” Uncle Bruce.
