Obituary of Salvador Rodriguez Ramirez
Salvador “Chavo” Ramírez Rodríguez passed unexpectedly on March 7th, 2024. He was a native of Zamora, Michoacán but had lived in Hollister for 42 years, the majority of his life. Although Salvador has no blood relatives in this community, his giving and cordial nature made him family to many friends. His partner, Marlene Salcido, of 20 years is coordinating the arrangements to return his body to his native country of Mexico.
Salvador was a humble man. He had a great sense of humor, had a positive spirit, and was a fan of the América soccer team. He was a member of his church’s Guadalupanos for many years. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his sister María Luisa, his brother José Rodriguez Ramirez, and a few nephews and cousins. His parents: Angelina Rámirez Mendoza, and Luis Rodríguez; and his siblings: Delfina, Luis, and Trinidad preceded him in death.
Salvador was most known for helping others at any time without expecting anything in return. He enjoyed visiting casinos and regularly organized trips for the community. He fed and entertained everyone on the way to and back from these trips. This made him well-liked by everyone who ever crossed paths with him. Salvador worked many jobs but held long-term positions at Global Seeds Co. for 15 years and San Benito Foods for 25 years. These jobs helped him get by but, unfortunately, did not provide a comfortable living.
For these reasons, we would like to give back to Salvador “Chavo”, a man who always shared what he had. The funds will serve to transport the body and lay him to rest.
Until we meet again, Chavo. Fly high among the eagles.
