Obituary of Louis Zuniga Sumaya
Louis was born on June 27, 1936, in Holtville, Ca. Shortly after he lived in Handford, Ca then moved to Hollister. Louis lived in Hollister for nearly 60 years.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, daughter Linda, granddaughter Mary Lee Sumaya, and brothers and sisters. Louis is survived by his seven children: Victoria (Andre) Kupsky, Patricia (Cipriano) Barrientos, Louise (Jose Ines) Mendez, Elizabeth Duran, Anita Alvarez, Jacqueline Alacron, Louie (Adriana) Sumaya Jr., 24 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and his dog Tigger.
Louis enlisted in the United States Army in 1954 as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne until he was honorably released from active duty in 1957. Louis was very proud to be a veteran and loved his country.
Louis was a truck driver from Tony Lomanto Trucking for over 30 years. After he worked as a security guard at local venues in Hollister. Louis was also a member of the grand jury and was involved in Hollister politics for many years.
Louis enjoyed fishing, playing pool, dancing, and karaoke at the local bars and the Hollister bowling alley.
He loved spending time with his family and friends.
