I bought my reunion tickets months in advance, also book airline and car rental. We made arraignments with Joni Rodgers and husband Mike Humphry to spend the weekend with them. The walk-through of the school was fun, had a blast at the reunion.
I had full intentions to attend the church Debbie & I attended for over 25 years the next day but saturday night after the reunion spending time with Mike & Joni I felt I needed to visit Kent instead of going back to Watsonville and the church we attended. So Sunday Joni & I drove over to see Kent. I'll never forget that day. He was in good spirts, I showed him pictures & videos of the reunion. We talked about our youth. (He & I grew up in the same neighborhood) Joni told her stories, we told him of all the people asking about him, we laughed & laughed. After about an hour or so Joni & I felt he seemed to be looking tired so we decided to leave.
I felt a strong desire to pray for him before we left but I refrained and prayed a silent prayer.
A few hours later Joni got the phone call.
Life is short, we never know how long we have on this earth. Our days are numbered. Live each day as if it's our last day, Love each day as if it was our last day and don't forget to pray often because you'll never know....
