What a nice man , Ernie was. I remember times seeing him at McDonald's having coffee with his friends. I could hear his laughter and jovial conversations with his friends. Before Ernie would leave he would stop by and chat with Gloria Powpowski, Mom and others having coffee, after daily mass. Ernie would share stories of growing up in Hawaii. Before his leaving and taking his walking stick , Ernie would always say that he had two choices "for tonight's dinner , it will be beans and rice or rice and beans". Ernie would then break out with that great smile and laugh. And would say "see you in the funny papers. ". I know that he must be sharing stories and jokes up in heaven. I was blessed to have known him. Our condolences to Connie and family.
