Obituary of Gerald F. Lambert
Gerald F. Lambert was born in Massachusetts on June,7 1947 and passed away peacefully at Stanford Medical Center on May 25, 2023. Gerry grew up in Canton Massachusetts. After graduating from college, he and Maureen married and then Gerry spent three years in the army, including thirteen months in Vietnam. Upon his return, he began his career in law enforcement as a Salinas police officer. In 1994 he was honored as Police Officer of the Year. He rose to the rank of lieutenant and retired after thirty years on the force.
Gerry and Maureen enjoyed their hilltop home and all their wonderful dogs. They also enjoyed travel with visits to Scotland and Alaska, as well as family visits to Massachusetts. Gerry treasured his faith community at Mission San Juan Bautista. Gerry loved good music and his local library. He was an avid reader and could recall every author, title, character and plot. He had a fine sense of humor and wore his Stetson hat with pride.
He loved many things but most of all he loved Maureen, his wife and best friend for 53 years. Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Catherine Lambert. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; his sisters, Mary, Jeanne and Anne, and their husbands, children, and grandchildren.
Calling hours will be 9-10 am at the funeral home on Thursday, June 1, followed by the Funeral Mass at St Juan Bautista Mission Church in St Juan Bautista at 11am.
