He began playing music at the age of 4 and was playing professionally by the age of 15. His love for classical, jazz, folk, and contemporary Mexican music made him a sought-after musician. It is said that even Mexican music legend Juan Gabriel sought his services.
Aside from his passion for music, his greatest love was for his family, beginning with caring for his five younger siblings and expanding when he started his own family.
In the late '70s, he moved his wife and daughters from Mexico and joined his brother and maternal family in San Jose, CA.
He was a devout Catholic and dedicated his life to being the principal pianist at the Our Lady of Guadalupe church in east San Jose. There he played music for almost 40 years. In addition to his musical contributions to the church, he participated in the local music scene in San Jose.
Federico's dedication to his family, career, and community will continue to inspire others to live with the same values of kindness, love, and compassion. Though he will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
