Michael “Mike” Sean Nelson, a one-in-a million man, passed away peacefully at home in Hollister, CA on May 17, 2023 with his wife of 30 years, Lisa, and son, Sean, by his side. Mike valiantly battled Glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, for the past year. Mike was born on November 6, 1964, to Larry Nelson (deceased) and Edith Richardson (deceased) and grew up with sister, Lisa (Johnson), in Mountain View, CA. Family was the upmost importance to Mike and always came first. He was a proud and devoted father to his sons Christian (deceased 2021) and Sean. He enjoyed being involved in his sons’ sports and activities, especially coaching during his sons’ baseball years. He was a dedicated employee at Hazel Hawkins Hospital for over 20 years and made some of his most cherished friendships. Mike enjoyed many activities, such as working out, which he considered therapeutic, riding dirt bikes, playing and watching sports, his dogs, bbq with Van Halen playing in the background. He looked forward to his annual guys camping trips to Hollister Hills with his sons, nephews, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends. Mike had a sharp mind for all things sports and Rock ‘n Roll, which he enjoyed sharing with others. He always had a song in his heart and would sing it for anyone who wanted to hear it and even for those who didn’t. Mike is also survived by extended family including mother-in-law, Josephine Guidace, in laws, Chris and Terrie (Guidace) Field, and Chris and MaryAnn (Guidace) Cervelli, Antonio Guidace (Michelle).
