Obituary of Roberto Garza Jr.

Roberto Garza passed away at his Hollister residence on November 22, 2016, at the age of 61 years. Robert is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pauline Garza; 1 daughter, Adelita Garza and step-son David Bautista. He also leaves behind 3 sisters, Ana Martinez of Texas, Debbie Gilman of Gilroy and Sylvia (Doug) Hughy; 1 brother, Roger Garza; 5 grandchildren, Eleanor Estrada, Angelica Garza, Marissa Rojas, Adin Garza and Tristan Garza; 3 great grandchildren, Mariah Tapia, Angelina Tapia and Josiah Garza; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roberto Garza Sr., grandparents Carlos and Petra DeLaRosa; step-son Larry Bautista II and great-grandson Ruben Tapia Jr. Robert graduated from Gilroy High School and attended Gavilan College. He was proud of having served in the Army and Veterans Day, Memorial Day and the 4th of July were always special to him. He also loved Christmas, Birthdays and the other holidays. Robert frequently volunteered for the Hispanic Men and Women’s Encuentios, the Hispanic Festival and the Garlic Festival. His life revolved around his grandchildren and Raiders Football. He also loved music and was a quiet and humble man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home on Monday, December 5th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception at the San Juan Bautista Community Center.
