Alfonso Madrid Casas, age 76, died peacefully on March 4, 2023, surrounded by family the entire day. Alfonso was born on July 22, 1946 in Delicias Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a graduate of San Benito High School in Hollister, California where he played football and track. Upon graduation, Al enlisted in the United States Army, during a time of the draft and served Honorably in Europe, Stateside and Vietnam as a Combat Medic where he earned a Meritorious Service Medal. Upon returning home Alfonso married his high school Sweetheart Julie Andrade with whom he created countless memories. They were married for 52 years and now eternally reunited. Upon coming home Al trained to be an Arc Welder and moved to San Jose, CA. He found work at PG&E where he retired after 40 years. His hobbies and favorite activities included taking my mother on trips and going out to dinner. He enjoyed camping, golf, softball, fishing, hiking and swimming. His sports favorites were the 49ers, SF Giants and San Jose State Football. One of his biggest enjoyments was having family over and barbecuing. We are gonna miss his barbecue wedding chicken. Highlights of his life are marrying his high school sweetheart Julie, Serving his Country, conquering Half Dome and participating in 10 and 12ks with Julie.
