Obituary of Lolita B. Pinuela

Lolita B. Pinuela passed away at the age of 92 years. Lolita was a native of Isleton, California and resident of California all her life, residing in San Juan Bautista since 1936. She was a graduate of Hollister High School Class of 1943 as well as a graduate of San Benito Junior College. Lolita served with the United States Army during WWII; was a member of the Women’s Army Corps. A member of the American Legion San Benito Post No. 69 of Hollister; was the first woman commander of Post No. 69; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of San Juan Post No. 6359 V.F.W.; the Native Daughters of The Golden West San Juan Parlor No. 179; the San Juan Bautista Library; LULAC Council No. 2890, and the Old Mission San Juan Bautista. She was the spouse of the late Vicente Pinuela Sr.; the mother of Vicente “BoBo” Pinuela Jr.; sister of Rose Andrino of Hughson, CA., aunt of Fred Pagaran and Daniel Pagaran of San Juan Bautista, Ron Andrino of Turlock, and Linda Porferl of Scotsdale, Arizona; survived by great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Mission San Juan Bautista on Wednesday, November 23rd. Burial will follow at San Juan District Cemetery. Donations are preferred to San Juan Bautista Historical Society c/o the mortuary.
