Obituary of Peter G. Larrondo

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter Larrondo passed away in Truckee, California at the age of 79 years. Born in Los Banos CA, April 5th, 1937 shortly after his parents Jean and Josephine Larrondo immigrated to the US from the Pyrenees Mountains of France. Both parents preceded him in death. True to his heritage Pete's passion and heart was always with the sheep, its industry and most importantly its people. His early years were spent on the McCullough's Panoche Valley ranch, building the family livestock operation. Later attending school in Hollister; then at Fresno State (CSUF) as an agriculture major, participant on livestock judging teams, the track team and as a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Never missing an opportunity to find new friends and fun. After a military tour in Germany during the Cold War he returned to again to work with his family on the ranch and to build a livestock and trucking business. A great and generous friend to all with never a mean word for anyone, his last years were spent connecting with friends, new and old. Ever searching for pasture for the sheep and enjoying the camaraderie and friendship wherever he visited. Survived by his sisters and brother-in-laws, Yvonne Silveira (Melvin) and Henriette Carbone (Paul). Son Andre and daughter Veronica, eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his estranged wife Florence Cubiburu, her 3 children Jackie, John, and Jeanine. Special thanks to the entire staff at Tahoe Forest Hospital, Truckee, CA and CHP Officer Ryan Dore for their expert care and extraordinary attention to Pete. Services will be held at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19th at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Hazel Hawkins Home Health Care c/o the mortuary.
