Obituary of Teri Lopez Juarez

On September 29, 2022, at 2:15 pm, Teri (Nana) Juarez passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones after battling an unexpected illness. She is survived by her children Christina Juarez (Carlos Ramos), Yvette Juarez, John Paul Juarez (Kammie Osborn); her siblings Cruz Arballo (Augie), David Talavera (Angie), Angie Miranda, and Diane Miranda; 17 grandchildren; Carlos Ramos, Erica Lopez (Noe), Alisha Ramos, Phylicia Ramos (Thomas Cerna), Alexander Declet, Desiree Torres, Amariah Juarez, Alexandra Ramos, Georgina Patino, Junior Torres, Jenny Carpenter (Josh), Andrew Ramos, Albert Juarez, Kailoni Chavarria (Eric), Kaia Patino, Lathan Juarez, and Nyla Juarez, and 5 great-grandchildren; Roman Lopez, Amaya Ramirez, Camila Rosas-Cardenas, Elena Lopez, and Christopher Cano, her godson Nick Rabago and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Tereso de Jesus Vasquez Miranda, her mother Katie Lopez Bisceglia, her brother Jesse Lopez Miranda, her sister Rachel Rushing, and her niece Deanna Vasquez. Teri was born and raised in Hollister, CA, and attended local schools including Hollister High School where she met and eventually married her high school sweetheart, Al Juarez. After living in Idaho while Al was in the Air Force, they settled in San Juan Bautista where they raised their children. Although Teri and Al were no longer together, they remained friends until the end. She attended Gavilan College where she obtained her cosmetology license and was widely known for her perms. Teri, or Nana as she was affectionately known, loved the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers, but she was most content when she was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nana was a voracious reader, often reading a book per day. She was also competitive, many times beating her family in a game of Aggravation. She loved to travel with her family, having recently visited Las Vegas, San Diego, Reno, Arizona, and Disneyland. Nana also loved to cook for her family and friends. Her specialties were her fried chicken, breaded pork chops, Chile Verde, and tamales. She loved to watch old movies and TV shows, including Gunsmoke, Family Feud, Little House on the Prairie, Golden Girls, and The Price is Right. Teri was also a long-time employee of the rock shop in San Juan, which was just a few short steps away from her favorite watering holes. She had a love for Elvis Presley and Mexican music. She loved to sing and could often be heard belting out Linda Ronstadt Canciones. The family would like to thank everyone for all the calls, messages, and words of sympathy in their time of grief. Nana Teri was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew her.
