Please share a memory of Alejandro to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
He was born November 27, 1955 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Silvestre and Maria Yerena. The oldest of ten siblings, he was the first to migrate to the United States in his late teenage years. In 1985 he met his life-long partner and wife, Evelyn, together they had 5 children. His happiest moments were spend surrounded by family and friends telling stories and making everyone laugh with his jokes. He was like a second father to his siblings, nieces and nephews. He showed love and respect to everyone who encountered him. He taught his children to work hard, to live their life with respect and love and to let God do the rest. Growing up he enjoyed playing baseball, then it was softball, where he played 1st base or pitched for the family team. Most recently he enjoyed watching his granddaughters and family members play the sport that meant so much to him. You could always find him cheering them on at the Vet’s Softball Fields or tagging along for weekend tournaments, rain or shine. He made friends everywhere he went and cherished his lifelong friendships, some that span more than 50 years. His stories, his advice and sense of humor will be missed by all. Alejandro is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his mother, Maria Yerena; his 4 daughters and their spouses- Mayra and Javier Zendejas, Elizabeth and Nathan Avila, Evelyn Yerena (Manuel) Patricia Yerena (Luis) ; his son, Alejandro Yerena Jr; his 5 granddaughters and unborn first grandson; Sophia Guzman, Leandra Zendejas, Maya Avila, Gianna Guzman, Lexi Zendejas and Baby Boy Orozco; his 3 brothers; his 6 sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
