Obituary of Mark Anthony DaRoza
Mark Anthony DaRoza passed away on July 28, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Mark was born on February 3, 1957, in Hollister, California. Mark was a life-long resident of Hollister, attending Sacred Heart School and a graduate of San Benito High School.
Mark spent his early career in agriculture, where he worked in the family business and later went on to work several years in the tomato harvesting business, including working as a mechanic for Jack T. Bailey Company in Salinas, California. Mark spent 16 years as a heavy equipment operator with Griffin Soil before his retirement.
He was an avid fisherman and was happiest fishing out of Moss Landing. He also loved hunting, riding motorcycles and especially the Clear Creek “overnighters.” His Uncle, the late Johnny Lomanto, was a big influence on his life where they shared their passion for fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles. He was an intense Pedro player, who didn’t like to lose! Mark excelled at whatever he did. Over the years he made several life-long friendships that he treasured.
Mark is survived by his brothers, Danny DaRoza, Dean DaRoza, sister, Janice DaRoza, and his special Auntie Babe Lomanto. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Marie DaRoza.
