Joe R. Cox quietly passed away on Salinas Valley Hospital surrounded by close family members on May 13, 2022, at the age of 84 years. Joe was born in Seminole, Oklahoma Dec 31, 1937, to his parents Joseph and Bernice Cox. Where he spent the first 6 years of his life. In 1943 they moved out to Santa Clara, California. After graduating high school, Joe joined the Army reserved for 2 years. He worked for Foremost McKesson Corporation as a liquor distributor, He bartended at Zorbia's and many other popular restaurants and lounges around Santa Clara valley. Joe tried his hands in the restaurant business as well from: Gibby's Pizza, Iron Wood Lounge, D&D Pizza, Donut & Deli and a concession stand for Jim Cannon Horse Association at Bolado Park. Joe was a people person and loved to cook and make people smile. Later in life he started Good Time Mobil Music and DJ for parties and weddings, before adding karaoke. Joe sang himself at places like; Old City Hall (Gilroy) Ridgemark & Paine's (Hollister) The American Legion (Prunedale), they would rotate different nights of the week and would meet up with his dear friends. Joe loved Golf, bowling, food & music. Joe loved his family very much and was married January 1963 for 32 years and is survived by his ex-wife Dianne, his sister Annette Kurr, his brother Coleman (Debbie) Cox, his 4 daughters Kelly (Frank) Gutierrez, Sheri (Steve) Huston, Lori Cox and Karen Cox. His grandchildren Patrick (Sarah) Huston, Gregory (Luisa) Hansen, Bud Woods, and Taylor Mopress, great grandchildren Huginn Hansen, Aspen Huston and Carter Gasch, and many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his father Joseph Cox, brother Gilbert Cox, Mother Bernice Cox. To honor Joe's wishes there will be no funeral services, Joe was cremated and will have a private celebration of life. Dad, we miss you beyond words and your funny greeting when you called us. I will always be your shadow till I see you again!
