Obituary of Peter John Gomez

Peter John Gomez, 95, of Hollister California passed away on April 13, 2022. He was born January 26, 1927 in Hollister, CA. He was given the nickname “Snipe” by coach Andy Hardin in the early 1940’s. He married Maxine Nadine Ramer in Hollister, CA on August 17, 1947. He worked as a baker for the Model Bakery owned by Helen and Bill Garcia before he served in the United States Navy during wartime. Following his service, he worked for PG&E for over 35 years. He loved sports, football, fastpitch softball and basketball. He took classes at Gavilan College just so he could play volleyball until the age of 66. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his children, daughter Pamela Andres, (Peter, husband) of Huntington Beach, CA, Peter C. Gomez of Hollister, son Robert A. Gomez of Hayden, Idaho, daughter Raquel Pereira (Tim, husband) of Hollister. He also is survived by grandchildren Jennifer Foster, Michael Andres, Lea Pereira, Roger Pereira, Heather Ruble and great granddaughters Devynn Foster and Peyton Mae Ruble. He was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles and family including wife Maxine Nadine Gomez, mother Louise Branum, brother Marcus Gomez, sisters Marie “Honey” Cunha, and Frances Manus Galvin, and great grandchildren Colette Foster and Troy Foster.
