Obituary of Gregory Frank Medina

Greg Medina, a farmer and life-long resident of Hollister, Ca passed away on March 24th, 2022 at the age 61 due to underlying health conditions. Greg is survived by his son Scott Medina, his daughter Taylor Spierling and her two children and his puppy Polly. Greg was born in Hollister on September 22, 1960 to Frank and Judy Medina. He graduated from San Benito high school in 1978 and attended Cal Poly University. After, he went into farming with his father, which became his lifelong profession. Greg’s main hobbies included fishing, hunting and old hot rods. Over the years he enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips with his friends to various locations such as Alaska, Idaho and Oregon. One of his favorite trips was to Arizona for the Barrett-Jackson car auction with his son and close friends. Greg owned a beautiful 33 Chevy that was referred to as the Dragon 33. He enjoyed taking his hot rod to car shows and going for cruises. After retirement he adopted a black lab and named her Polly after Underdog’s girlfriend sweet Polly Purebred. Greg’s son Scott has two labs and Polly will be a perfect addition to his family. Greg was known for his great sense of humor and ability to always make people laugh. He will be missed by his friends, family, and those who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday April 7th from 12-3 pm at the Elks Lodge in Hollister. Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate the wonderful life of Greg Medina.
