I am truly sorry to hear of Kit's passing. I was a little kid when I met Kit and I know he and my brother enjoyed some great times together. Kit was larger than life to me as a kid.and in more recent times, I always enjoyed our bantering back and forth. Rest easy sir, you will be missed.

Kit,
I met you when Richard (Punky) was on your C-Shift..CPR...Carmel, Pebble, Rio. I know you had a huge influence in our lives as we know it today. If there were no Kit, there would certainly be no Richard, Joanne and Joseph. I appreciate everything you did for Richard, me and our little family. Station life, off duty extra curricular activities, cherished breakfasts at the Ding-A-Ling, our traditional day before 19th Hole Chili Cook-off prep on your patio, the actual day of Legendary Chili Cook Offs, weddings, birthdays, many-many Lake Tahoe & Reno trips..... and all of your fine cooking and canning lessons. No one has ever made chicken fried steak quite like you Papa.
We thank you Papa, we adore you... and your memories will warm our hearts forever.

In 1973, I had the opportunity to work with Kit at the California Division of Forestry station located on Park Hill in Hollister, California. Kit was a mentor to me as I pursed a career in Law Enforcement.
My condolences to Kit's family, friends and fellow firefighters.
The firefighter's bell rings in memory of Kit for his commitment to firefighting and public service.
