Obituary of Richard Padron

Richard Padron, 97, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday March 13, 2022. He was surrounded by his two children and grandchildren. He was finally reunited with the love of his life Sarah (Osuna) Padron who preceded him in death in 2008. Richard was born on February 7, 1925 in Gilroy, California He was the 7th of 8 children to Domingo and Justa Padron. Richard was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the Army until the war's end in 1945. A young farm boy from Hollister having his mother sign a waiver so he could join the army at 17, 'Chico' as he was known to his army buddies grew up fast in the fog of war. He was happy to come home and live a life of peace. His life was complete when he met Sarah Osuna who he married in 1963. Richard loved jazz music, Sarah didn't. Richard built his own listening studio in the hallway closet of his home with various headsets where he could be found every Friday night after a long week's work as a proud Teamster at San Benito Foods cannery. Richard loved to travel, he loved his San Francisco 49ers and his Oakland A's. Richard dedicated his long life to Christ and he felt blessed in his daily walk with the Lord. His faith was the foundation that he built his life and family on. He is survived by two children, Mark and Michelle. Foster son, Kenneth Woods, and Daughter-in-Law Nanci Padron. He was a beloved Tata to grandchildren Kendra, Dominic, Hannah, Kellin, Kayne and Eden. He was the great-grandfather to Harlee and Kynslee. Uncle to hundreds of nieces and nephews who adored their 'tio Ricardo'. Richard is finally home with his wife Sarah in the loving arms of their Creator. Inurnment with full military honors will be on Thursday, March 24th at 11:30 a.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 West McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322
