Obituary of Harold Carota

Harold Carota was born to John and Anna Carota in Roosevelt New York on July 18, 1928. He studied Theology at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon and was ordained a Catholic priest to the Diocese of Monterey/Fresno in the 1950s where he served foe upwards of 15years. He then served two years as a Chaplin in the Air Force then obtained a Masters in Social work from UCLA and later worked several years in this field for the County of Los Angeles. He married his first wife Mildred (Mickey) during this period and they both moved in the 1970s to Freedom California where they opened a Mom and Pops store, Cactus Corner. Mickey succumbed to cancer and Harold met and married Elizabeth. For the next twenty five years Harold and Elizabeth would live in Corralitos, then in Arroyo Grande, Hollister, and finally in Morgan Hill for Harold’s last years. Harold passed due to complications of COVID and surrendered to be with his Lord. He is remembered by his wife, step children and many nieces and nephews as a loving, kind and considerate person who cared endearingly for his family. He will be greatly missed. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos at 11am Friday the 11th of march, with reception afterwards in the hall. All are invited.
