Your green Tupperware filled with shredded cheese and saltine crackers...a warm cup of Taster's Choice cafecito while sitting on your lap (radio playing on top of the fridge)....a failed attempt at awakening you on a birthday long ago with surprise mariachis in the backyard....watching you get ready in your new New Year's Eve dress to go to a baile....you waiting to sit and eat until everyone else has been served...listening to your stories about days gone by...making arts and crafts to put in your front yard, waking up at 5am to make sure I had a chance to paint your nails before I left, your secret smile to me as you snuck some extra snacks into your pocket for later...your hand on mine...these are some memories that I will never forget, my sweet abuelita. Thank you for everything you sacrificed for us. We have incredibly full, successful lives because of you, and everything that you did for us. I hope that I can make you proud every day of my life, the way YOU made me proud every day of yours. I love you, abuela. -Missy
