Obituary of Paul Casillas
San Benito County Farmer, Paul Casillas, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2022 at the age of 82.
Paul was born on August 1, 1939, the 7th of 8 children to Julian and Carmen Casillas. He attended local schools and graduated from San Benito High School. After high school Paul served in the National Guard and told many tales of driving a tank a long with his brother Eddie.
Paul and his brother’s Manuel, Emilio, Joe and Frank farmed in San Benito County known as Casillas Bros., Inc. He retired from the business in 2000 after 40+ years in the farming and ranching industry. Even though he was “retired” from farming, Paul took any opportunity to drive tractor and loved working in his yard and garden.
In 1993 Paul married his greatest love, Cathy. Together they made memories along with their kids, numerous grandkids and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending a bit of time at the casino. Many hours were spent working over the problems of the day and discussing the 49ers at the coffee shop with his compadres .
Paul is survived by his wife of 29 years Cathy, sons Kenny Casillas (Michelle) Jake Hubbell (Shari), daughters Karin Dagle (Noel) and Katy Silva (Danny Sosa). Grandchildren Taylor, Jordan and Kamren Casillas, Andrew Yacavone, Peyton and Kayla Dagle, Avrie and Clay Hubbell. Paul is also survived by his brother Emilio Casillas (Pat) and sister Mary Marcus, sister in laws, Helen, Lil, Joyce and Debbie Casillas and Terri Aguiar along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Carmen Casillas, brothers, Julian, Manuel, Joe, Frank and Eddie. In-laws, Bruno and Betty Tesolini and Sister-in- law, Linda Crum, Brother-in-law, Sam Marcus and Son-in-law, Mike Mason.
