Obituary of Juanita Riesgo Medeles

Juanita R. Medeles was born in LaVerne, California on June 25, 1923. She passed away in Hollister, California on January 23, 2022. Our sister went to be with our Lord surrounded by her family and loved ones. Everyone that had the opportunity to meet her knew what a special person she was. She volunteered for many years at the Community Pantry, where she met many people and some children even called her grandma. Another thing she did was work at her polling place (Ladd Lane) for many years during elections. She loved to watch her favorite teams; Giants, Warriors and 49ers on TV. She also loved to go to the casino. If you even mentioned the word, she was ready to go. She is survived by her son Sam (Sally); siblings: Frank Martinez, Margie, Dolores and Ruby Alvarez. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed but she has gone to be with our Lord and her loved ones. She is now at peace and resting. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 3rd from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, February 4th, family and friends will meet at Sacred Heart Church at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of the Resurrection. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
