Obituary of Peter Michael Kurzeika

Peter Michael Kurzeika “Mike” passed away in Hollister, California on January 10, 2022 at the age of 82. Mike was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 7, 1939. He was the youngest of three children to the late Peter Marion Kurzeika and the late Marguerite Lois (Tulley) Kurzeika. He was raised and educated at a boys Catholic home, Parmadale, in Parma, Ohio. After leaving Parmadale, he was enlisted in the Army for a brief period. He then worked for the phone company in Ohio as a lineman for 36 years. On September 17, 1960 Mike married the love of his life, Charlotte Rogel. They raised their five children in Mantua, Ohio. Mike was a dedicated husband and father who put his family first. After retirement in 1993, Mike and Charlotte moved to Meeker, Colorado. Over the course of 27 years they formed many friendships. In 2019, Mike and Charlotte moved to Hollister, California. He enjoyed the past two and a half years surrounded by family and friends. Mike never met a stranger. He enjoyed developing friendships throughout his life. He was, also, generous with his time and committed to helping others. Mike is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlotte Kurzeika. He is also survived by his children, Michelle (John) Ceglia, of Hollister, California, Michael Kurzeika of Salida, California, Mattthew Kurzeika of Cinebar, Washington, Russell Kurzeika of Middlefield, Ohio, and Jessica Kurzeika, also, of Middlefield, Ohio. He was the beloved grandfather of 15 and beloved great-grandfather of 9. He is, also, survived by his brother, James (Charlotte) Kurzeika. He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Wilson. There will be no services as per his wishes.
