Obituary of Alfred Robert Powell

Alfred Robert Powell Jr., 90, of Hollister passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife (Norma) and his family on November 30, 2021. Alfred was born on December 20, 1930 to Alfred Robert Sr. & Ida Mae Powell in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was one of nine siblings. As a child, the family relocated to Salinas, California. He graduated from Salinas High School in 1948. After high school he married Marlene Faye Westmoreland and soon after welcomed their son, Steven Claude. Alfred then found great opportunity in the field of construction where his career began. In 1963 he met Norma Jean (Sunny) and together they raised a blended family. After years of working in construction, they built their dream home in Hollister to retire and live out their best years together. He enjoyed traveling to many places in their RV’s, fishing and golfing with his buddies and being near by to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. The family will be holding a private service to honor him.
