Obituary of Francis E. Flores

Francis Edward Flores passed away on November 20, 2021 peacefully at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. He was born in Hollister, California on June 28,1935 to Mary (Valdez) and Raymond Flores. Francis attended local elementary schools and San Benito High. He was a great athlete and lettered in football, basketball & baseball. After high school Francis attended junior college in Southern California before being drafted. He served in the U.S Armed Forces (Army) during the Korean War where he was a mess hall cook. Francis retired from Fairview Packing Company where he was a shift supervisor. He was a family man who enjoyed camping in his trailer while traveling the U.S He enjoyed watching his son perform in Reno & Tahoe, he would play the nickel machines for hours! He loved hosting backyard BBQ’s & parties and watching his two favorite sports teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers & Rams. He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Eugenia (Genie) Fortino Flores, his daughter Kimberly Flores, son Khristopher Flores, parents Mary & Raymond Flores, siblings Tom Flores, Olivet Martin, Angie Bravo, Gene Flores and Robert Flores. Francis is survived by his sister-in-law’s Gerry Wilson (Bill) & Ginger Guerra (Joe). His niece Gina Perry and her husband Scott, niece Kelsie and nephew Dylan had the honor and privilege to welcome him into their lives and assist in his final years. Francis came from a large family and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1100 Hillcrest Rd in Hollister on Friday December 10, 2021 at 12:00 p.m.
