Obituary of Jose Mena Muya

Surrounded by his loving family, Jose Mena Muya passed away on November 20, 2021 at the age of 79 in San Jose, CA. Joe, as he was known by family and friends, was born in Zambales, Philippines. He married and settled in New York where he and his wife worked and raised two daughters. Later, they moved to California. Joe retired in 2008 to begin his beloved role as a grandfather and to enjoy his retirement years by traveling and tending to his backyard garden and fruit trees. Joe will be forever remembered and loved by his wife of 49 years, Amelita, daughters Arlene (Brandon) and Jocelyn (Joseph), his four grandsons Kai, Ethan, Gabe and Joel, and by his loyal friends and family. Visitation will be on Monday, December 6th, 2021 at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. On Tuesday, December 7th, family and friends will meet at St. Benedict Church at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of the Resurrection. Internment will be private.
