Obituary of Curtis Allen Graves
Curtis Allen Graves passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 10th, he was 91. He was born in Chatsworth, California and followed his wife of 66 years, Patsy Graves, who passed away three years ago. He was raised on a farm in Buttonwillow and graduated from Bakersfield College. When he was only three years old, he looked up as a plane flew over and sail that one day, he would fly like that. He joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and flew the F-86 Saber Jet. While in training at Goodfellow AFB, Texas, he met Patsy and they were married. After the Air Force, he worked for Trans World Airlines for 26 years. He started a cattle business in San Juan Bautista and later moved the operation to Paicines. After retirement from TWA, he was elected as County Commissioner and served two terms. Curt loved to hunt and play pedro with his friends.
He leaves behind four children: Joel, Susan, Peter and Andrew; as well as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His son Timothy passed away in 1960.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home in Hollister. Interment will be on Saturday at 12:00 noon at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
