Obituary of Linda G. Hammack

Linda Gail Brown was born April 21, 1954 in Pomona, CA, the third child of Donald Leon Brown of Alameda, CA and Merilee Eddy Brown of Irondequoit, NY. She died September 6, 2016 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas, CA. Linda grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where her parents had spent much of their youth, with the family settling in Los Altos. They later lived in Scotts Valley, CA, after spending a year in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Linda finished high school at Marello Preparatory High School in Santa Cruz, CA, graduating in 1972. Linda married her first husband, Lloyd Replogle of Chico, CA, in Reno in 1975. The couple lived in Chico, then Woodland, CA, with a brief stint in Central Point, Oregon, before settling in Hollister, CA in 1982 for Lloyd’s career. There they raised their two children. In 2000, Lloyd and Linda had a mutual dissolution, and Linda then married her second husband, Randy Hammack of Hollister. They were married fifteen years. Linda enjoyed reading and embroidery, and sang in the San Benito Oriana Chorale. She also studied nursing at the Allied Health Department of Gavilan College. She held various jobs, including working as a bus driver for County Express in San Benito County for 7 years. Linda is survived by her beloved family: daughter Crystal Replogle of Oakland; son Justin and daughter-in-law Betsy Shimer Replogle of Ventura; mother Merilee Eddy of Hollister; brother Eric Brown of Hollister; sister Debralee Brown of Santa Monica; husband and dear friend Lloyd Replogle of Hollister; step-mother Luise Peter Brown of Los Altos; nephew Christian Brown of Seattle; nieces Gelaine Koeberich of Texas and Lindsey ReBell of Reno; and two step-brothers, two aunts, and five cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Randy Hammack (2015), dear father Don Brown (1978), precious baby nephew Justice Lee Meyer (1979), a sister-in-law, and her four grandparents. She prefers donations to: The American Cancer Society, or other cancer organizations The National Wildlife Federation, or other wildlife organizations The U.S. National Park Service A memorial will be held Saturday, September 10 at 11:00 AM at Saint Francis Retreat, 549 Mission Vineyard Rd, San Juan Bautista, CA.
