She worked as a telephone operator in the late 1940’s until she and Peter were married on August 6, 1950. In the mid 1970’s Clare started working as a seamstress first at Shipper’s men’s clothing store then at Dick Bruhn’s tailoring men’s clothing for almost 30 years. She stayed busy with five children. She always volunteered to take us to 4-H camp, and never missed a school field trip. She made numerous costumes for her four girls dance recitals year after year, never missed a baseball game, or a dance class. Clare was an active member of YLI for as long as we can remember. Clare was sweet, kind and well liked by anyone that was lucky enough to have known her. She will be dearly missed. The family plans on having a mass and a “celebration of Clare’s life” in the near future. Date to be determined.
