David Rovella was born September 19, 1954, to Tony and Dolores Rovella in Hollister, California. The fourth of five children he grew up tending to his family’s Apricot Orchard off of Fairview Road. He graduated from San Benito High School active in wrestling, baseball and bowling. He started plumbing with his father at age 15, and continued until his retirement at age 65. He was a generous, hardworking soul, always willing to help someone replace a water heater, clear a clog, change a tire or stop a leak (the list could go on). David was known for Truck & Tractor Pulls that started in 1978 but got serious when he met Ted “Pappy” Duncan and continued with his son, AJ Rovella. An active member of Boosters and the Elks Lodge. He was an avid hunter spanning from California, Colorado, Idaho, Mexico, and all the way to Africa. He bowled weekly in local leagues and went to countless tournaments - bowling a perfect 300, 3 times. He enjoyed RV Camping with his wife, family and friends. Some of his favorite camping spots were in Paso Robles and Santa Cruz. The San Francisco Giants were his team! Going to numerous games including a yearly September “Giants Birthday Gamers” game and our traditional Father’s Day game. Family was very important to David. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and father. He is survived by his mother, Dolores Rovella; Terri Lynn Rovella, wife of 17 years; father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Wilson; Mother-in-law, Patricia Emery; brothers: Mike Rovella, Robert Rovella (wife Rhonda); sisters: Geraldine “Geri” Goularte (husband Greg ), Antonette “Ree” Rovella; and mother of his two children, Lisa Dike; his children: Anthony John “AJ” Rovella (wife Krista), Cody Shubkagel Rovella (husband Zack); his step-daughter, Stephanie Frick (husband Matt); his grandchildren: Cash Rovella, Chevelle Rovella, Caycen Rovella , Michael Frick and Prince Florez. David’s family went far beyond blood relatives with life-long friends.
