Obituary of Maria De Jesus Ortega

Maria De Jesus Ortega a devoted wife of 60 years and resident of Hollister Ca, died peacefully in her sleep on July 2, 2021, at the age of 91. Maria is survived by her children; Jesus Guadalupe Ortega (Jesse, Isaac, Alexis), Raul Ortega (Raul, Yessica, Karina, Jose-Luis, Daniel), Martha Vasquez (Jose, Krystal, Rene, Katrina), Robert Ortega (Ramsey, Zinnia, Ulysses), Elidia Rojas (Isaiah, Alex, Michael Ryan), Ruby Castillo (Serina, Marissa, Keahna). Maria was born in Chihuahua Mexico on December 27, 1930, to Sara Chacon and Guadalupe Rojo. On February 14th, 1951, she married Guadalupe Ortega a devoted husband and father. Maria was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Church. She was recognized for leading out the Migrant Ministry and for her many years of service. She enjoyed being a part of the Catholic community and being an active member of the Guadalupanas. She was known for organizing the booth that made the most authentic enchiladas at the Catholic “Kermes” Fundraiser. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren by making her favorite dishes for all. At the same time, she instilled the love of God in everyone by her leading example and for always praying for everyone. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 am on July 8, 2021 at Saint Benedicts Church on Fairview. Father Rudy Ruiz will officiate. The viewing will take place from 1-8 pm and the Rosary will be held at 7 pm on July 7th, 2021 at Grunnagle Ament.
