Please share a memory of Julie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Julie Ann Borges passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Monday, May 31, 2021. Julie was born September 5, 1966. She was preceded in death by her mother Jessie Vasquez, sister Anita Magorian, brother David Vasquez, a very close niece Deanna Vasquez, and her husband Bret Borges. Julie is survived by her loving companion David Rivera II and stepson David Rivera III, her father Raymond Vasquez, sisters and their husbands, Rick & Mary Edge, Buzz & Terri Picha, Ed & Tina Spilo, Ramona Vasquez, and Neva Vasquez, brothers Raul Vasquez and Robert Vasquez, numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Julie graduated from Calvary Christian School and lived in Hollister for most of her life. She worked for Orsetti Seed company in their accounts and payroll department for several years and for Old Mission San Juan Bautista as the Parish Secretary. In both places she was the face that people saw first. She always maintained a professional and friendly image. She always greeted everyone one with a smile and welcoming attitude. Julie was a loving and caring person, always there to protect or support whoever needed her help. She never complained about anything, was always in a good mood and was a loving person. Julie was the youngest of ten, so she was close in age to her oldest sister’s children and was more like a sister to them. She babysat many of her nieces and nephews and they all remember how loving and gentle she was when they were in her care. She baked for them and as they all became adults Julie shared her favorite recipes with them. Julie’s son David remembers that she loved to bring joy to people she loved with her jokes and laughs, she had the best taste in music, and loved movie nights! Above all she was a great mom and wife. Julie had numerous friends and colleagues who admired her and loved her. Julie’s coworkers describe her as cheerful, and efficient. Everyone loved her beautiful smile, and she will be missed by many. A celebration of life and a Mass will be held at St. Francis Retreat Center on Sunday July 11, at 2 PM. The Rosary will be said at 1:30 PM.
