Obituary of Robert Daniel Regan

Robert Daniel Regan (Bobby) of Hollister, California was reunited with his parents and sister in heaven on May 25th, 2021 Bobby was born on April 8th, 1950 to Pat and Kay Regan. He later moved in with his Aunt and Uncle, Pat and Emilio Casillas and cousin Anne who he loved so much. He was raised in San Benito County and was a cowboy through and through. Bobby grew up working on his families ranches and for many other ranchers in the area. He loved branding season and he was everyones go to guy for gathering tough country. Even the wildest of cattle could not evade him and his #1 horse Hammerhead. Bobby was no quit and all try… and a tiny bit stubborn, if he set his mind to something- it was going to happen. If you’ve ever gathered cattle before you know this is an important trait. He looked forward to going buck hunting every year with his cousin Cindy, brother Pat, Rob and good friend Pat Hagins at the Green Canyon Ranch. He loved Green Canyon, it was his favorite place. Bobby had the kindest heart, he loved animals and helping people. He enjoyed taking therapy animals to local nursing homes and care facilities. Once he retired from that he found a new calling in working for a couple who bought the old Casillas family ranch. He enjoyed taking care of retired horses and the many other animals they took in. As he got older he continued helping the ranch and animals, whether it be watering chickens or babysitting the dogs and he always…always was available to go out to lunch! Bob loved holidays and was known to dress up as the Easter Bunny, if you lived on his road you might have been lucky enough to get a visit. Bobby was kind, caring, loving and generous. He loved his family and that was evident in his nightly phone calls and homemade birthday cards that we will all cherish. He never missed an opportunity to tell you he loved you. He taught us all how to be better people and if you knew Bob, you knew how absolutely special he was. He was one of a kind and is missed dearly by his family and friends. Bobby is survived by his brother Pat (Kris), Niece Averi (Tanner, and Koe) Ramos, Nephew Rob (Erin, and Ward) Regan, Aunt and Uncle Pat and Emilio Casillas, Cousin Anne Casillas, Cousin Cindy (Jerry) Sawyer. Preceded in death by his parents Pat and Kay Regan and his Sister Linda Kubota. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13th, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Paines Restaurant, 421 East Street in Hollister.
